This quintessential neighbourhood Italian restaurant is a warm and atmospheric venue serving up delicious authentic fare in south east London. Locale boasts a bustling open kitchen and a stylish dining room featuring brown leather banquettes, exposed brick walls and chandeliers which is popular with Dulwich food lovers for weekend brunch, leisurely lunches, after-work Bellinis and romantic evening meals. A firm fixture on the local dining scene, the retaurant is also a popular venue for private dinner parties and the classic menu, created by Executive Chef Paolo Barone, features favourites such as the Linguine ai frutti di mare – seafood linguine with fresh tomatoes, chillis, clams, calamari and king prawns; and the asparagi mimosa – grilled asparagus with crushed dressed eggs.

The team at locale went out of their way to make our surprise dinner a memorable one! thank you team we had a really special evening! Food always good hear and arrived at the same time
As ever Locale is ok but not quite good enough. Service was friendly but 20 minutes to get the wine. 35 minutes after we sat down for the starters. This is just too slow. then when we received our mains they had forgotten about our side orders which then arrived half way through our main courses. I gave up on the fries which never arrived.These were not deducted from the bill. The food is good although starters are too small for the price. I think for the prices charged they need to improve.
Locale in Duwich London was no more than average! Service was slow although the food was good. A service charge of 12.5% was high for the service given and added a lot to the final bill!!
We went to Locale in East Dulwich for dinner on a Wednesday evening. Always good ambience and the service was very good this time around. Starter of caprese salad is always good there and we were happy with our main dishes. We keep coming back as it's an above average place.
Locale in east dulwich is a dependable neighbourhood Italian. The service this weekend was particularly good and friendly and the food is never going to be an absolute knockout, but it is always tasty and good value.
