The Thames Indian
About The Thames Indian
The Thames Indian has been a fixture on the London dining scene since 1985, delighting city dwellers and tourists alike with its Bangladeshi and Indian food and keenly professional service. Cosy and welcoming, the clean, modern dining room with its almost hotel-restaurant look is situated only a few moments from the best of the South Bank, a hop, skip and jump from Waterloo Station while its very close proximity to the IMAX cinema makes it a popular choice for pre- or post-movie dining. Packed with well-known curry house favourites, The Thames Indian’s menu is familiar in its choices while also providing a few surprises in those less often sampled specialties of the house fresh from the homely kitchens of Bangladesh. Regular offers, including an excellent set lunch, ensure that The Thames Indian offers competitive prices, while its stalwart status is a guarantee of quality both in food and in service.

Good food, good service.
Excellent food. Extremely convenient location if catching a train from Waterloo. Will go back.
Handy location if you're going to the Old Vic or need a train from Waterloo. Tasty food. A Little campt.
Not terrible food, but left a stale taste in the mouth when the man in charge claimed we hadn't paid enough, as everyone had indeed paid their part of the bill, plus more for a tip. We all had to pay more to cover what must have stemmed from a lost receipt (or just plain ignorance). Unfortunately, though a couple of staff members were lovely, the head waiter/ manager was not, and as this was a birthday celebration it would have been nice if he could have made a an effort to not be miserable.
My first visit to The Thames Indian was an unqualified success. Bravo!
