Number Twelve
About Number Twelve
Number Twelve restaurant in London is found at the top end of Bloomsbury at the corner of Upper Woburn Place and a delightfully Dickensian pedestrian walkway, so it’s incredibly convenient for both the Bloomsbury set and travellers to and from Euston and Kings Cross stations. Critics have loved the impressive contemporary British menu with its many inventive Italian touches, all created under the careful eye of chef Charles Holtz who uses a wide range of fresh, seasonal, locally-sourced ingredients from seafood and fowl to meat, fruit and vegetables. The dining room itself is both smartly modern and very comfortable, a neutrally-decorated space with stylish pillar-box red accents. The ambience at Number Twelve is relaxed and inviting and diners are delighted to find that tables are spaced so that conversations may remain private. Number Twelve’s global wine list offers more than fifteen labels by the glass or the carafe.

Searching for somewhere a bit different for myself and two friends to have dinner in the King's Cross area of London I came across Number Twelve. We were pleasantly surprised by the mouth-watering menu and attentive yet unintrusive service. The food lived up to expectations and was delicious, and although somewhat on the pricey side, and perhaps a little lacking in atmosphere there's little to disappoint here. Well worth a try.
Great food and wine! I booked this restaurant for a business meeting for my boss and it was the perfect choice! The space between the tables was generous, which meant they could have a private conversation. The food was good and the wine list was very impressive. I would definitely book this restaurant again for entertaining business clients.
The food was par, but not beyond; although the dishes lacked flair, they were well executed. With regard to service, the staff were mostly inattentive, although the at-table service by our waiter was good. Unfortunately, it seemed that they did not wish for me to pay, it took so long to get the bill after we had requested it. The restaurant and toilets were also freezing cold, which is inexcusable. Overall, the meal was not worth the money and I would not consider dining here again.
Overall, a very pleasant experience; service was extremely good, attentive yet discete. Food superb if a little pricey.
Finding a good restaurant around Euston is not easy. Chains with dependable low-priced food in noisy surroundings proliferate. We went to Twelve in search of something different, a quiet and tasteful venue, in which we were not disappointed. The food did disappoint. Main courses were served at tepid temperature, rather bland, and the ingredients did not seem overly fresh. The bread and olive oil were both of indifferent quality. We won't be rushing back.
