About Stef's

Named after its friendly owner, Stef’s is a family-run Italian eatery in the heart of the London’s West End. First-time diners are welcomed like old friends and the regulars are a friendly mix of young families, local office types and theatre-goers. The atmosphere is laid-back and unpretentious, allowing the first class food and wine to speak for itself. The menu is traditional and extensive, full of Italian classics like Gamberoni Diavola and Bistecca di Manzo with a brandy, cream and three peppercorn sauce. There’s a pasta to please everyone and the kids will love the authentic thin-crust pizzas. Situated just off Oxford Street, Stef’s is the perfect place to linger over lunch or enjoy dinner before a night out in nearby Soho.

A quick bite of supper booked late through TT. TAble was ready and waiting and a good menu. Food was good, but service was erratic, having to ask for the bill more than 3 times and then waiting an age for someone with the card machine. Has been better in the past.

If you don't mind old-school Italian waiters, with a line in bad jokes, banter & general interruptions, this is actually pleasant & full of character. The decor is 1970s, so a bit clinical, but crostini were fine, veal well prepared & pork loin, passable. Value - a TT offer of 3 courses & wine - was excellent. I'd choose Stef's again for a lunch with mates or colleagues - maybe not for stuffier clients who'd want their lunch joke-free...... !
