Salaam Namaste

About Salaam Namaste

Salaam Namaste restaurant in London’s Bloomsbury is an Indian/Subcontinental restaurant for people who really love food. The décor is charming though modest and unassuming -- we’ve all been dazzled then let down by slick design in the past. At Salaam Namaste, disappointment is not on the menu. The chef, formerly at a chichi Indian hotel, is a maestro at cuisines that criss-cross that part of the world, including Pakistan and Bangladesh, with an emphasis on seafood. Signature dishes include starters of kathi kabab, jingha peri peri, and aloo chat, and main courses of tawa lamb chops, Goan green chicken curry and Bangladeshi machchi fry. Classic dishes are here, all served with a calm, friendly air.

Went to the Salame Namaste in London on a quiet sunday evening but place was nearly full and had a good atmosphere. Food was well presented and of excellent quality. Would recommend especially the 50% offer.

outstanding food very nice mushroom bahji - if a little spicy outstanding fish curry - good portions - great value - will definately visit again a bit of a gem given some of the rubbish you get on brick lane.

Really disappointed this visit On the coldest night of the year, there was no heating. Not only was there no heating, the air conditioning was blasting out cold air causing pretty much all diners to eat with their outdoor coats on. Food wise - not great either my King Prawn starter had seen better days, the lamb in the Tandoori platter was inedible. The chicken was only marginally better Disappointing staff did not try to recover service, maybe they think TT disc covers all problems
