Opulent surroundings. Great for people watching. Good food and service, priced as you would expect. Excellent for a special occasion.

My food was perfect, yet my partners fillet steak was rather dry and tasteless for being rare. I would recommend the sirloin, which we both agreed was better.

The Reading Room at Claridge's is very charming and atmospheric. Everything was great, apart from my main course order being mixed up - instead of veal from the main menu i got veal from the grill menu. This was very disappointing, very standard fair one can get in half decent pub. The service was apologetic and offered some glass of sweat wine. I wished though they have taken the orders more carefully! At least I know what to avoid now.

The warmest professional welcome one can receive. I visit the Reading Room every few months and I can NEVER fault anything. The staff are the best in Europe I travel alot - being a stickler for detail and fussy about service, manners, and food Claridges is my Number 1 location. Anyone who has never experienced Claridges SHOULD. It holds the Platinum Award for me anyone I have ever taken there is blown away by the Institution that captures British Culture.
