About Saf Restaurant and Bar

Whilst the health benefits of dining at Saf should be considered secondary to the delicious combination of flavours, eating out has never been so good for you. Using a variety of techniques, most dishes are cooked below 48°C to preserve optimal flavour and nutrition. Complimenting the experience is the array of organic cocktail and wine offerings, from the UK’s first Bio Bar. Saf’s plant-based, botanical menus have been created by Executive Chef Chad Sarno, and UK Head Anupam Som. Experience a heightened level of gastronomy amongst the warm and welcoming atmosphere at Saf.

Toptable says about Saf Restaurant and Bar

With the addition of Saf to London's dining scene, raw and vegan food just got sexy. Situated in trendy Shoreditch and the third in the international chain (including Istanbul and Munich), Saf's long, slim room features clean lines of fashionable reclaimed wood with a gleaming glass panel at the end to watch the chef's work their veggie magic. Using only 100% botanical and organic food with no animal, dairy, refined or processed elements, many dishes are not heated above 48°C, thus preserving optimal flavour and nutrition. It's enough to send any meat-eater running for the door, but Saf's pretty plates and innovative techniques and flavours make a surprising hit with both carnivores and veggies alike. It's feel-good food on a beautifully grand scale.

My girlfriend and I ate at Saf on Friday night and a a lovely time. Very few places you can go to in the evening for a detox weekend and enjoy yourself as if you were having a normal evening. Try the dumplings and the beetroot ravioli. It's amazing what textures and flavours you get from vegetables alone.

The food is an aquired taste. I thought the main courses were poor, but the starters and desserts were excellent

The imagination on vegan food made this a truly excellent experience for a meat eater. I had a gorgeous glass of red, beetroot tortelinni and the spicy Budda plate. All really inventive and delicious. I had the chocolate tart, which was really rich and creamy. As a non-vegan, I would have liked a bit more explanation on what the individual dishes entailed. I was offered this help by the waitress, but, as I were too busy chatting, I would have liked the option to read the description on the menu.

For a couple like us, one vegan, one "normal", Saf is a welcome addition to the options we have in London. My wife was delighted to have a wide selection to choose from. The food itself was excellent, well presented, tasty and, for London, value for money. We will certainly be returning at some future date.
