Toynbee Hall

About Toynbee Hall

Toynbee Hall was the brainchild of curate Samuel Barnett and his wife Henrietta back in 1884. Their aim was to help the poor and under privileged people of East London. Today, Toynbee Hall still works to relieve need and to address the causes of poverty and distress with special focus on the East End. Free Legal advice is available every Wednesday throughout the year. Rooms are available for hire.
