The Holly Bush

About The Holly Bush

One of Hampstead’s favourite pub-restaurants, The Holly Bush is tucked away on a quiet cul-de-sac away from prying eyes. Once the stables belonging to the home of painter George Romney, The Holly Bush was converted in to a tavern in the early 1800s and much of the original character remains to this day. It’s the original panelled walls, high backed booths and imposing curved bar which gives The Holly Bush such character and comfort while the juxtaposition of the rather more glam dining room with its chandeliers, eau de nil upholstered mid-century style furnishings and luxuriously patterned wallpaper gives the pub a wider appeal. Classic but sophisticated British favourites and comfort food make up a menu which perfectly complements the setting.

Lovely pub with delicious food

Nice food in a pleasant atmosphere but much more of a pub than restaurant - rickety stools, small tables, etc. Also, slightly unimpressed with fish bones in my fish fingers! the mac & cheese was intensely cheesy but tasty and warming. Staff were very helpful.

The Holly Bush in Hampstead is a great local traditional pub / restaurant with a lively atmosphere good service and good food (beef and ale pie is excellent). Open fires in the Winter and seating outside in the Summer.
