The Star Tavern
About The Star Tavern
CAMRA award winner, The Star Tavern is a shining example of all that is good about London’s pubs. Set in the heart of Belgravia, a stones throw from Belgrave Square and Sloane Street, The Star’s simple pub exterior – hanging baskets, glossy paint and gold lettering – belies the chicness you’ll find inside. Traditional but with a modern edge, The Star Tavern makes the suits from nearby embassy offices feel at home with a Victoriana vibe, however the over the top chandeliers and bold use of colour nods to a modern design ethic. Well kept Fullers ales are served at the bar along with your usual pub tipples while on menu the chef mixes English tradition with international flavour to great effect in dishes such as salmon fishcakes with spiced savoy cabbage and sweet chilli and tomato sauce.

The Star Tavern, W.London, will not be to everyone's taste with the bar's old chairs and tables, bare boards etc . We, however, thoroughly enjoyed the quite genteel atmosphere, the roaring fire, and not least the food. The service was excellent and friendly. The food was very reasonably priced, and above average. We will have to go back, if only for the chocolate brownie with white chocolate sauce and pistachio ice cream. The menu was smaller than some but select & tasty.
The Star Tavern is a great pub in the heart of Knightsbridge, it does not serve the usual greasy pub fayre, the menu is a decent mix of modern classics, with some great specials. I've been here several times and cannot recommend it highly enough.
It was a good pub lunch at the Star Tavern. I enjoyed an appertizer of crayfish salad which had fresh mango in it. Another in our group had a steak baguette which he said was tender and I tasted the 3rd member of the group who had a lamb burger whiich tasted a bit bland and was not cooked enough for lamb. One of our group had a draught ale which he said was excellent.
good food and good for a group!
Arrived early for our meal but we were accommodated. Pleasant pub in quite setting. Good selection of real ale. Menu was interesting and varied. We chose one venison and one lamb burger - both were a good size and well cooked and presented. Our table was a little small and, as the plates were enormous, this presented problems. I'm sure we could have moved if we had asked, though. Staff were attentive and friendly
