Sumosan

About Sumosan

Sumosan has established itself as one of London's finest Japanese restaurants due to its exclusive Mayfair address, innovative menu, luxurious interior and fashionable crowd. First launched in Moscow, the Sumosan concept is known for being less flashy and more discreet than other big name Japanese restaurants, whilst delivering the same quality of food and service. The restaurants unpretentious approach to dining, coupled with the sleek charcoal grey and blonde wood interior, has made Sumosan the favourite dining destination for an A-list clientele, and has showered the restaurant with countless culinary awards. The JBar, located on the lower ground floor of the restaurant is a valuable addition to the Mayfair bar scene and also a convenient place for pre/post dinner drinks. Perfect for sushi-sharing lunch dates, evening tête-a-têtes and corporate dining, this is an elegant and discerning choice for Japanese dining in the capital, and a stylish spot for celebrations.

A pleasant meal nicely served. Overall pretty expensive, but not disproportionately so given its location and ambience.

We went to Sumosan in Mayfair and had a lovely time. The food was delicious - the sushi especially was scrumptious. Slim veggie choice - but this is quite standard for Japanese cuisine. The one vegetarian dish we did order was very buttery. On the other hand, we had the best dessert I have ever tasted - the white and dark chocolate dessert was fantastic - definetly recommend this to all! thanks

One of the best Japanese restaurants in London. The service was good, and so was the food. The atmosphere however is not great. However all in all it was a good experience and i would recommend it to all avid japanese cuisine lovers, especially the sushi.
