The Tai Pan in Commercial Road, London is THE BEST chinese restaurant around. The food and service is excellent. The waiters and waitresses are so efficient, polite and nothing is too much trouble. The owner Winnie gives the personal touch to her guests and introduces herself and spends time talking to the customers even though you know she is extremely busy. Book early to avoid disappointment, this is one restaurant that certainly gets extremely busy. I would recommend to anyone.

Tai Pan provided an inexpensive meal with generous portions. Between 2 we ordered soups entrees and a main to share but then cancelled the main as the entrees were so large. Very attentive service but the food was nothing to rave about.

tai pan is a great local chinese - the duck is excellent and the staff are very nice. we are looking forward to going back.
