Tartine
About Tartine
First opened back in 2002, restaurant and bar Tartine introduced a hugely successful and entirely singular eating concept to the locals of South Kensington. Tartine's name refers to the very food served in the dining room, a French take on bruschetta, served tapas style with seasonal toppings and fresh salad sides. Tartine's AA Rosette winning kitchen has perfected this delicious specialty, using poilâne, French sourdough, baked at the restaurant's own Belgravia bakery and lightly toasted with olive oil before being finished with the diner's own choice of topping. Equally popular are Tartine's more conservative a la carte dishes with their own touch of French flair and their generous hamburgers served, of course, with chips. Set in the designer heart of Brompton Cross, Tartine is appropriately sophisticated, its dining room oozing laid back French charm with simple yet expensive looking furnishings used throughout the tan and cream coloured interior. Ideal for relaxed brunches and coffee stops as well as easy but delicious dinners, it really isn't difficult to see how Tartine has become such a local fixture.

Tartine was nice. The food was good, but nothing really special. Nice ambience but lavatories need a revamp. Service was good.
great value with this discount, yummy food, good flavours, i enjoyed!
Very minamalist surroundings but great food and cheery staff. Wasn't sure whether their 'tartines' were meant to be starters or mains.
Table for 2 on a Friday evening, it was very quiet, annoyed that another party was put on the table right next to us (space between tables is a premium at the back!!!) - there were plenty of other free tables. Food was Ok with offer ( I wouldn't pay the full prices). Service? - there was a leak in the ceiling so we decided to move tables; as above there were plenty free (couldn't find any staff!)!. Waited to pay the bill; waitress had gone AWOL, guys chatting behind the bar. Verdict? Not great.
A pleasant venue, with friendly staff and a reasonably inspiring menu. The food was good, but all too greasy for mine and my dining partner's tastes - too much oil in everything, and the overall quality wasn't great. At full price it would have been too pricey, with the offer it was acceptable, but there's better available.
