London's finest Scottish contemporary bar and restaurant, Albannach is home to an elegant ground floor lounge bar, an acclaimed fine dining mezzanine restaurant with an adjoining exclusive private dining room and a late night cocktail bar, Doon, situated below. The renowned restaurant provides a contemporary, refined Scottish menu, while the stunning lounge bar serves an exclusive 140 strong whisky list coupled with fine wines, champagnes and signature cocktails. If time really is of the essence, head to Albannach and enjoy our Express Munch - two courses, within one hour, guaranteed. For just £15 indulge in delicious dishes such as ham hock and foie gras with split pea chutney or slow roasted Buccleuch lamb shank. The Express Menu is available Monday – Saturday, 12pm – 3pm and 5pm – 7pm, from 29th January. For those wanting to wile away the hours in elegance and style, Doon serves an impressive array of unique cocktails and fabulous food against a backdrop of the latest sounds.

Glamorous, decadent, smart, and above all Scottish, Albannach is spread over three grand floors on Trafalgar Square. You enter via the vast main bar partly lit by a central chandelier fashioned from ebonised antlers. Level with this witty creation is an elegant mezzanine restaurant with a bird's eye view over the bar. Up here the modern Caledonian menu is as fine as the scenery. Typical starters include pan fried black pudding with caramelised apples in thermidor sauce or Layered haggis neeps and tatties cake. Pick of the mains is arguably the roasted fillet of Buccleuch beef with stove potatoes, confit bay shallots with an artichoke purée. A long, long way from deep-fried Mars bars, desserts are a triumph. To drink? Choose from 140 malt whiskys and/or a strong wine list. Cocktails are best quaffed in the clandestine whisky and cocktail lounge in the vaults beneath the main bar.

food and service were brilliant

one bugbear of mine though, how can london restaurants in these credit-crunching days, still persist with this 12% service charge. i know its "optional" but its about time you took a reality check

I love Albannach. The whisky selection is great and the signature cocktail (66 Trafalgar, with mango and champagne) is a definite favourite! Food is good too, and fantastic value with the current offer

Lovely venue, tantalising menu. All food well prepared and really delicious. we went there at lunchtime so it wasn't as noisy as other reviewers say -it's a nice daytime venue.

We booked albannach on the 50% off all food offer, and had a great night out - we started with the Cullen skink soup, which was devine, and I followed that by the Lamd (cooked maybe a bit pink, considering I had asked for medium) and the cod with seafood, which my companion enjoyed, but thought the mussels were a little overcooked. Pudding was fab - scottish tart and Parfait respectively. The food was reasonable on the offer, but may be a bit pricey normally. Restaurant was v. loud, though.
