About Homage Restaurant

Homage is not just one restaurant alone. Built on an impressive scale, it consists of three rooms that enable guests to move easily from one to another. The principal room, the majestic and graceful Grand Salon, combines its contemporary black marble bar and B&B Italica furniture most effectively with the original fin-de-siecle architecture and imposing columns. Its extensive and imaginative menu has proved enormously popular whether you are looking for a business lunch, an affordable supper before or after theatre… or that special dining experience.

From early morning Homage Patisserie and Champagne Bar provides delicious pastries, hot and cold beverages and freshly squeezed juices, with Champagne and light, appetising savouries for later in the day. Homage Bar is already a byword in excellence for exciting and authentic drink mixes, our bar staff are particularly skilful at creating amazing gin-based and fruit cocktails.

Toptable says about Homage Restaurant

Homage at the Waldorf provides an elegant setting to eat, drink and socialise from breakfast right through to late evenings. It is designed to be relaxed, glamorous and with its unique position on the Aldwych, a little theatrical. Homage serves classical dishes, as well as some more contemporary favourites. The wine list is predominantly old world European and like the food it is both accessible and affordable. Located in the heart of London's West End close to many of London's main theatres, as well as being easily accessible to the City, Homage is well positioned to offer many different customers a diverse, all-day dining and drinking option.

Homage incorporates the Grand Salon - a restaurant, the Patisserie and Bar, and is open from morning to late at night. The stunning 'jewel box' Homage Patisserie at the Waldorf Hilton features an exquisite range of cakes and pastries made fresh on site daily. Outside terrace is open for al fresco dining during spring and summer. Flexibility is the key, customers are able to pop in for coffee and pastries, a glass of wine and a salad, or enjoy a three-course meal.

Homage, the new restaurant at the Waldorf, is exactly that. They wanted to recreate the grand café European dining experience in London, with a bar, a patisserie and grand salon. Whether theyve achieved that is debatable, but there are plenty of plus points here. Good service, a fine room its certainly grand in both the English and the French definitions sensible prices and decent volume music. In fact the only real disappointment was the food. A starter of Scottish langoustine salad, baby artichokes and asparagus was satisfactory and huge, but French Onion soup with shin of beef, gruyere crouton was just a huge disappointment. The use of shin promises a slow cooked depth of flavour, which was lacking. The crouton rapidly became a huge soggy lump of molten cheese that stuck to the spoon. And the bowl. And my chin. All without actually tasting of anything. Dover Sole was again satisfactory, but lacked excitement although thats probably true of any Dover sole. Better was Fillet of beef with a green peppercorn sauce. Served rare as requested charred outside, deep purple within it proved, again, that those boys at the Buccleuch estate know how to hang their beef. Dessert a good orange and Valrhona chocolate combination and coffee took the bill to around £90. Thats not bad but if the Waldorf name is going to be remembered in food circles for more that that salad, Homage needs to get some tweaking done asap.

Good Restaurant - Very plush, good for Couples pre- theatre

Homage at The Waldorf Hilton is ideally situated for the Aldwych Theatre, the pre-theatre menu was a little unimaginative, but the food was tasty, and service excellent.

We booked to eat at the Homage as we were staying at the Waldorf Hilton. We went for the special offer (3 courses & a glass of sparkling wine). Was very impressed with the food - everything was cooked to perfection and was delicious. Service was wonderful - we felt very looked after. We had cocktails in the Cocktail Bar before dinner - be aware they are very expensive - one bloody mary and one peach martini - £25 - but again they were delicious! Would highly recommend the Homage.

The most amazing dessert and really good quality food - ruined by the fact that we were outnumbered by staff in an almost empty restaurant.

We went to The Homage Restaurant in the Waldorf this weekend. The service was great and the restaurant very romantic and opulent. The first and last courses were lovely. However, my seabream was not seasoned well and was rather bland. My friend's lamb was very rich and fatty.

I probably won't go back but did enjoy the experience and the attention the staff gave us.
