As an experience, it is well worth it. Eating in total darkness is something that everyone ought to try. Being devoid of one of your senses is one thing. The menu gives you no warning on what to expect--nor help and how to eat it. Service was very good and the atmosphere very strange. The food is hard to judge. Starters were excellent. Main course slightly more tricky. Finding the food on the plate and physically eating it was tricky. Well worth going.

My meal at Dans Le Noir was truly an experience to remember. The restaurant, located just off Farringdon Road, is an unassuming looking place. However, once inside, the service is first class. Your meal takes place totally in the dark, and I mean, pitch black. There is literally no light, not even a glimmer. While finding your food can be challenging, when you do, it is of an excellent quality. I would suggest a drink or two before hand, to loosen you up, but it is definitely worth a visit!

I went to Dans le noir with a friend on a friday night. It is a great experience although the food leaves something to be desired.... We were sat on the end of the table and asked if we could be moved nearer to others. Logistically it was difficult so we stayed where we were. Takashi (our waiter for the evening) was fantastic and it was a very surreal experience. I'd recommend going for the experience.
