Once a jazz landmark in Stoke Newington, this music club is now thriving just a hop and a skip away near Dalston Kingsland railway station. The bill brims with jazz, world and folk acts, mixing young talent with established legends such as Evan Parker, John Dankworth and Polar Bear. Be prepared for anything from big band to East European jigging.

    Alban Darche's French trio arrives at the Vortex as part of Zoom!, an initiative connecting a number of established collectives throughout Europe, They are joined from Estonia by Uma, an unconventionally beautiful combination of guitar, trumpet and the rarely-heard corno da cacccia. Paolo Angeli's Sardinian guitar creates an extraordinary sound suspended between free jazz, folk and minimal pop.
