Jazz In The Round at Cockpit Theatre
Jazz30 Jan 2012 to 28 May 2012
This night is the sort of thing I have wanted to be involved in for a long time,' says Jez. 'The idea is to bring together bands and artists from different scenes, genres, cultures and generations. Our only watchword is quality. We considered calling the night ‘Jazz Snobs Eat Shit’ but decided it might limit our PR. But you get the idea. The whole thing will happen in the round, so there'll be a real intimacy between musicians and audience. Every night we'll have 3 acts a headliner, a brand new act, and a one-off solo spot.

The classes will also involve live music accompaniment, a feature which is usually amiss at this level, but will be a fundamental part of this project. \nAdvanced: In addition to furthering the skill level in areas of technique, vocabulary, music, poetry, yoga and theatrical games; the training will involve students performing in small informal gatherings, so that the interpretative skills are developed.
