The Prince Of Wales
About The Prince Of Wales
A new breed of local pub, The Prince on London’s Brixton Road, moments from the train station, combines stylish restaurant class with the warm, relaxing welcome of a traditional pub. Opened by a group of foodie friends in 2011, The Prince has very quickly gained a reputation as a place to be, a Brixton meeting place where guests are treated to something special, from a delectable feast served with a smile to a perfectly poured beer and a chat with the friendly staff. A very British setting, right down to the Vivienne Westwood wallpaper, The Prince feels fashionable but unpretentious. The setting is of course inspired by the food, also ever so British, but in a very Brixton way – the very best of artisan suppliers providing high quality produce to be used in a menu full of GB flavour but with influences from further afield, flirtations with Hispanic flavours, splashes of North African spice, a touch of Caribbean soul. Serving all day from brunch until late, The Prince really does offer a genuinely exciting dining experience suited to any occasion.

Went for dinner at the Prince before a movie last night. I hadn't been for a few months but i was very impressed. Excellent service and food. I definately wont leave it so long next time. Well done Prince, keep up the good work!!
good service, atmosphere excellent, good location for Academy and concerts, toilets average but considering location what do you expect. simple but nice food, portion slightly on the small side but good value.
I'v visited The Prince a few weeks ago before a gig at the Brixton Academy and came again last night. The atmosphere was great with live jazz as we ate, and the food was fantastic (the mussels, pork belly and spinach is fab!). However, the evening was let down by very poor waitress service, also experienced by other tables. I complained to the manager who was very apologetic and adjusted the bill accordingly. Will return again for lovely food and ambience- just hope the service improves!
Booked a table at The Prince in Brixton prior to a gig last night. The food was pretty standard pub fare but done to a decent standard. The staff were really helpful & attentive and the beer was good too. Overall I'd recommend if you want a decent meal but don't expect fine dining.
The Prince is Brixton - Loved the building and the atmosphere. Handy for station and the Academy. Staff friendly. Food good. Toilets shocking!
