• Another Country: London Painters in dialogue with Modern Italian

  This exhibition will showcase the reaction of ten London-based contemporary painters to the work of twentieth-century Italian artists. Each contribute a number of paintings, most of which have been created specifically for the exhibition, highlighting some of the connections made with the work of the Italian twentieth century, both in terms of ideas and practice.

  The Estorick Collection of modern Italian art is located in Canonbury Square, Islington. The gallery contains a world-renowned collection of Futurist paintings and figurative art and sculpture from 1895 to the 1950s and stages innovative temporary exhibitions.

   

• Flavio de Marco: Portrait of a Collection

  Contemporary Italian artist Flavio de Marco is best known for his works based on the landscape of the computer screen. In a series of paintings created specifically for this project, the worlds of the computer and twentieth-century Italian art elide to create extraordinary works. Portrait of a Collection will hang alongside the permanent collection, giving visitors the opportunity to view Flavio de Marco's works in the context of their inspiration and providing a new insight into our own masterpieces.

   

• Frank Auerbach: The London Building Site Paintings, 1952-62

  An exhibition of a group of paintings of London building sites by Frank Auerbach. Produced between 1952 and 1962, the paintings chart the early development of Auerbachs approach to painting.
