The Salutation
About The Salutation
The Salutation Inn is one of the very few Hammersmith pubs which appeals to all comers. Dating back to 1750, when the building was a coaching inn, The Salutation is certainly not a crusty old local but nor has it been stripped of all its charm and character in its most recent overhaul. Many original features remain in the comfortable, elegantly decorated rooms where real ales, beers and wines are enjoyed by a collection of young professionals, arty types, older clientele and couples, while out on the terrace The Salutation gives the riverside pubs a run for their money with a lovely sunny spot incredibly popular during the warmer months. The menu is excellent value with good old fashioned British pub favourites as well as tempting bar snacks offered throughout the day.

Understandably busy on a Friday night, The Salutation has a great range of beers on offer and the food is great pub grub. Lovely staff - worth checking out.
Tha Salutation at Hammersmith was a good venue for meals before going out later. THe food was very tasty and the service very good.
Having relied on the reviews, I booked this place for me and my friends to meet up prior to an event we were attending at the Hammersmith town hall. I wasn't disappointed. And WOW the food was amazing! I ordered the slow cooked pork belly w/ chorizo mash. The flavours were divine! My food came w cracklings that were done to perfection. The presentation of the food is a notch or two higher to what you usually get in pubs. Highly recommended!
This must have been our fourth or fifth lunch at The Salutation and each time seems better than the last! Staff are friendly and helpful, food lives up to its description and the bathrooms have to be amongst the cleanest in London! The only 2 points which prevented full marks being achieved - requested French fries arrived chunky and no other mustard than English offered. Very highly recommended.
We were warmly welcomed at The Salutation, Hammersmith on a cold snowy evening. We liked the ambience with a mix of people drinking, watching sport and eating in different areas. The food was extremely tasty. So much so that after our mains of belly pork and lamb stew, we opted for desserts too and they didn't let us down. We enjoyed a very nice chocolate brownie and an unusual crumble of spiced pear and chestnut, a combination that had to be tried and was a real winner. Great place!
