Texas Embassy Cantina

About Texas Embassy Cantina

The Texas Embassy Cantina, just off of London’s famous Trafalgar Square, has kept hungry Londoners and homesick Texans happy ever since it opened its doors in the White Star shipping building on Cockspur Street. A hit with tourists and theatre goers, the Texas Embassy Cantina is a huge restaurant with high ceilings and plenty of space, which really does make you feel like you’re stateside rather than in the heart of historic London. Famous for its fresh and flavourful Tex-Mex cuisine and margaritas, the restaurant is actually named for the embassy that existed in London until 1845 when Texas, then a republic, joined the United States. The brainchild of its three Texan directors, the Texas Embassy Cantina is now one of the capitals most popular Tex-Mex restaurants. Perfect for birthdays and work parties, the restaurant also has a popular menu that includes everything from fajitas and burritos to fresh guacamole and Lonestar beer.

Overall a pretty average meal at the Texas Embassy. Chosen for its location just off Trafalgar Square, the food was a mix between fair to poor (the desserts were all a let down). Service was friendly but way too slow, especially as it wasn't a busy evening...a bit too much chatting between the staff for my liking. Without a special offer the bill looked poor value. We won't hurry back.

Visited Texas Embassy Cantina, as I do regularly, and they never disappoint. Good food, good value, and great margaritas!

Texas Embassy Cantina. Very empty considering the time of year. I had the barbeque platter which was adequate but not special. The margheritas were, however, superb. Service was pleasant. It felt more expensive than it should have been. I won't be rushing back.

Ok - nothing special. Went with some visitors from the US - they thought it was ok, but trying to hard to be texmex. Service a bit slow - food tastey enough, but then again difficult to get too overboard about burger and chips and fajitas.
