The Centenary Company: The Pirates of Penzance + No Cards
Opera18 Nov 2009 to 21 Nov 2009
A double bill of musical mirth, starting with a rare opportunity to see 'No Cards', an early domestic farce by WS Gilbert in which two suitors endure disguises, discomfort and potential dismemberment in their pursuit of a wealthy young lady. Gilbert and Sullivan classic 'The Pirates of Penzance' features a tender-hearted crew pitted against flat-footed policemen, hard-nosed damsels in distress and a lily-livered (but very modern) Major-General.
