The Albion

About The Albion

A Georgian gem in London’s vibrant Islington, The Albion is a country style pub restaurant with a little urban gloss. Originally situated in an area of farmland where Londoners would escape from the smoggy city, The Albion is now a part of the sprawl but remains a retreat from the stress of London life, a relaxed space where time stands still before roaring log fires or in pretty walled gardens. Noted for its Sunday lunches, The Albion’s kitchen has been hailed as one of the best by The Guardian, The Observer and The Independent. It’s not hard to see why. Combining British tradition and seasonality, the hearty yet delicate dishes really are the beating heart of this wonderful pub.

The Albion pub in Islington- totally amazing! We booked this place a month ago to hold a group lunch with friends (12 of us). The staff were most accommodating, and the Bloody Mary's (yellow tomato) were absolutely incredible, easily the Best BM in London. I had the Ham Hock Terrine with home made piccalilli to start (delicious) and for my main the Pork Belly, again absolutely delicious. Also given there were 12 of us dining we all receive our food at the same time and each of exceptional quality, presentation, the works! Love this place and will most definitely be coming back! 10 out of 10!

Excellent meal and service, but very noisy on a bank holiday. They do the best chips.

We went for a Sunday roast dinner, we had lamb and beef, both were very beautifully cooked. Staff were very friendly, we had a good experience overall.
