The set lunch at Boxwood Cafe was very good value for money. Three courses, a bottle of wine and coffee was just over £50 a head. We couldn't fault the food or ambience, absolutely delicious.
I went to Boxwood with my girlfriend for her birthday on a wednesday night. The atmosphere was excellent although it wasn' busy. the staff were extremely friendly and welcomiing and we had a really great night overall. i had the hangar steak which is recommended cooked rare-medium. it was certainly very rare, it tasted lovely but i could feel that i had had a rare steak the next day! overall though i would highly recommend and the girlfriend was very happy! ;)
Boxwood cafe was good, not great - pleasant food but the venue is a bit dark and service only OK...quite expensive for what you get
My friends and I really enjoyed our meal at the Boxwood cafe. The food was absolutely devine and the atmosphere was pleasant. A good time was had by all
The Boxwood Cafe's menue was fairly simple and nothing stood out to me when trying to decide what to order. I ended up having Cauliflower Soup with apple and walnut which was delicious, followed by Californian Prawns with an asian salad which was quite tasty and a gorgeous Chocolate Fondue to end (In particular the marshmallows were divine). The music was a little loud in the restaurant for easy conversation but otherwise all was very well done. Staff were attentive without being annoying.
