Toptable says about Annie's - Chiswick
Annie's restaurant in Chiswick is the kind of place every neighbourhood dreams of. This home-from-home restaurant has become a local institution, as spot-on for Sunday brunch as for romantic dinners. A stone's throw from the Thames, its cosy rooms are an eclectic mix of exposed brick, richly-coloured cushions, rococo mirrors and chandeliers. And the menu is the kind that makes you sob with gratitude, filled with dishes that you'd cook for yourself at home if you could be bothered. Start with a salad of halloumi, roast squash, fig and caramelised shallot, then savour the slow roast pork belly with white bean and chorizo cassoulet. Warm, welcoming and satisfying, Annie's will send you home smiling.

Annie's is baroque/heavy draped little gem tucked away in deepest Chiswick/Strand on the Green. Not the easiest of places to get to if you don't drive but well worth it. We cylced from Ravenscourt park.
Service was good and prompt. I had excellent fish cakes - could have been hotter and prawn/salmon masala; my boyfriend had lamb burger - also good.
Wine as pricey as anywhere but house options good.
Heating was too high - they immediately turned it down.
Well worth the effort.
I love Annie's. Having such a good restaurant within walking distance of home is great. Mum and I had lunch there yesterday and I thoroughly enjoyed my curried smoked haddock soup and the smoked chicken with apple and celeriac. Mum's roast lamb however was very tough. When she told the waiter this, the cost was removed from the bill. Their starters are excellent - a variety to suit all tastes. In fact I nearly always have 2 starters as I find the main courses more than I can eat!
This was the second time we visited Annies and it didn't dissappoint! the atmosphere when you walk through the heavily curtained entrance way is an immediate sense of conviviality and fun...like a very large and somewhat noisy dinner party! The service was so swift and personal. the portions are absolutely massive! I would highly recommend the 'shared starter'...and the sticky toffee pudding!
Annie's is consistently a great place for food and ambience
Another good meal at Annie's. Food was very good. We will return again shortly.
