Arcola Theatre was founded in September 2000 when Mehmet Ergen and Leyla Nazli converted a textile factory on the borders of Stoke Newington/Dalston into one of London's largest and most adaptable fringe venues. Arcola is now one of the country's most renowned independent theatres with a distinct and powerful identity both within the local community and British theatre.

Dubbed ‘a powerhouse of new work’ by the Observer, the Arcola is famous for showcasing cutting-edge writing alongside classic drama, music and comedy. There’s a strong community streak — sessions include heritage storytelling — while the building is earning its green spurs with energy reduction schemes and LED lighting. A true pioneer.

The next morning the consular canapés sit uneaten, whilst three hungover civil-servants deal with the onset of a crisis; three missing British citizens. JMK Director Award Winner Jamie Harper directs Adam Brace's uncompromising and hilarious play about savagery and how we need it.
