Smith's - Wapping
About Smith's - Wapping
Smith’s has been serving up excellent seafood in Essex since 1958, and Smith’s Brasserie in Wapping has become one of London’s premier dining destinations. Close to Tower Bridge and only minutes from the Wapping tube station, Smith’s Brasserie Wapping is situated on the Wapping High Street overlooking the Thames and is within walking distance of St Katherine’s Docks. A memorable venue with stunning views, the restaurant is popular for city lunches, business seminars and cosy tables for two. Offering a well balanced menu, the kitchen specialises in seafood – Smith’s tagline is ‘Famous for Fish’ – yet there are plenty of meat and vegetarian dishes on offer for the less aquatically inclined. Our favourites include the Scottish king scallops and the glazed honey and ginger Barbary duck breast. Head chef Stephen Bard previously trained at Scotts Restaurant in Mayfair, and oversees all of Smith’s Brasserie Wappings accomplished menus.

Brilliant place, celebrated my 1st wedding anniversary and they gave us the best seat with an amazing view. The service and the food was first class. Would highly recommend Smith's.
Our meal at Smiths on Wednesday evening was as always really good. The staff are very pleasant and helpful, the view of Tower Bridge is amazing and the food tasty and good value. I recommend the Roasted Salmon.
Smiths at Wapping was visited on a rainy overcasr day, but this did nothing to dispel the sunny disposition of the staff who were professional and friendly. We both had the set lunch menu which is an absolute steal by London standards, my dressed crab was generous and fresh and my skate, cooked to preference was also large and well cooked. The view is lovely, and the crowd were all lively and enjoying the food, most appeared regulars. After this, I suspect I may well be too! Really rather good.
Went to Smiths on a cold evening and it was cosy and welcoming with a great river view. The set menu was good value but did not give the option of 2 courses which is a shame for those who can't always manage 3. Nice tables by the window and easy to converse without shouting! Also an easy stroll from Tower Bridge which is good as parking is difficult.
Excellent venue and view. Food was delciious. We went for the set lunch. Place was hardly buzzing but delightful all the same. Would recommend a second visit in the evening perhaps to enjoy the view by candlelight
