Aqua Nueva

About Aqua Nueva

Located opposite the London Palladium in the vibrant West End, the Aqua Nueva restaurant is set at the very top of the iconic Dickens and Jones building on Regent Street, a perfect example of destination dining at its best. Overseen by chef Alberto Hernandez, who trained under the infamous Ferran Adria at the three Michelin starred El Bulli, Aqua Nueva presents its guests with an opportunity to indulge in the exciting and ever changing Spanish city dining scene without ever leaving British shores. In the kitchen, Hernandez’s team creates dishes epitomising Spanish cuisine, both tapas and a la carte, but with a focus on creativity, experimentation and, of course, well sourced, fresh and authentic ingredients. The stunning ‘Liquid Cashmere’ menu meanwhile is a unique combination of Spanish and Japanese flavours in hot handheld bowls. Aqua Nueva itself is an eye catching designer haven, views over the capital matched by a stunning interior in lush golds and pure whites. Take a step or two a level higher during the summer to enjoy one of the most thrilling al fresco dining spots in London, Aqua Nueva’s roof terrace.

When I booked Aqua Nueva my expectations were rather high as I enjoyed my experience at Aqua Kyoto very very much. Nueva turned out not as good as I imaged to be honest. The food was average so was wine. Not good value to me. I am pretty sure that we won't dine there again.

Aqua Nueva - London Unfortunately this was a very disappointing evening. The service was very slapdash and although the starters (tapas) were good the main course was poor. the dish had not been explained well at all by the waitress (we asked her in detail). We did complain about the dish to the manger (after a very brusque interaction with the waitress) he handled the situation much better than she did. Not sure there will be a next time but if there is I will stick to the tapas bar.

We had a great time at Aqua nueva, the food was original and not like your run of the mill tapas. The dishes were tiny so you can't really share the tapas. We originally ordered 4 tapas and a main with a side but after seeing the size of each tapas we bought another main and side which was exactly the right amount. The food was delicious, my only complaint was the seared tuna belly which I was looking forward to was unavailable because the chef did not like the quality of the tuna.
