We always enjoy our time at the Gilbert Scott
Such a lovely location, very friendly and unfussy staff and excellent food. expensive, but you get what you pay for. If you have anyone elderly with you, you might like to know the loos are quite a trek upstairs. A
The Gilbert Scott at St Pancras is a rather curious mixture of brasserie and somewhat expensive wine-list and menu. Magnificent surroundings but limited choice and only a la carte available at 2.30pm when we arrived from the train. Courgette flower aptly named as there was only one, albeit on top of a lot of tomatoes and crab salad on small side. Cover charges added £4 to the bill. No side plates for the bread which made the crumb-sweeping ritual slightly more burdensome than usual...
My boss took a client here for a very enjoyable lunch. Rated the food, service and atmosphere well: we'll be booking it again
Venue great but food quite disappointing. The courgette flower was all batter, I never found the courgette and the dish was mainly tomatoes. My fried fish was not well done enough and so the fish was slightly slimy, My dad loved his black pudding but my husband thought the presentation of his crab was poor, would have been better in a shell. My mum couldn't eat her mushroom cobbler, as too rich so I swapped but it wasn't great.. For the price, the restaurant did not live up to the prestige.
