Auberge
About Auberge
Located directly opposite Waterloo station in south London – Auberge is a traditional French eatery with a contemporary Parisian twist. The dining room at Auberge has a rustic vibe and is decorated with cream walls, chunky wooden furniture and royal blue accents, making it the perfect venue for business lunches, office parties and pre-commuting meals. The ground floor boasts a Belgian-style bar ideal for after-work drinks, and the provincial menu at Auberge includes all of your French bistro classics. We love the soup á l'oignon with gruyére croutons; the moules mariniere with shallots, white wine, garlic and parsley; and the magret de canard – duck breast with roasted potatoes, braised savoy cabbage and Cointreau sauce.

The food would have been good but it was tepid. The staff were offhand and disinterested - they had to be asked twice to provide ice and the restaurant was not busy. The ambience was poor - it was so dark someone used a torch to read the menu.
Auberge, Waterloo. The staff were very pleasant and accommodating. Food OK but some meals better than others due to the fact some looked like they'd been over microwaved. Good venue, good location.
i dined at the Auberge,Sandell st,London at the end November. The food was good but on the pricey side and service was slow. The upstairs restaurant is noisy and the lighting extremely poor and the table was in a draught from an overzealous air con unit .Wouldnt go back unless i could sit downstairs and there was an offer on
In general OK, mussels over steamed but other meals were very tasty. Very busy and good atmosphere and with 2-1 maiin meals offer it was good value for central London.
AUBERGE SE1 - My Dad just came back to live in UK after 22 years living in France, so this was perfect choice when we picked him up. Drinks in busy bar downstairs and then into very French style diner with proper frites and good steaks and very pleasant, friendly and attentive staff. Yes - it is very dark to read the menu; but we liked it. It soon filled up with all types of persons and was lively. One guest really liked the large photographic split paintings. Used the 2 for 1 deal. Great!
