Azou

About Azou

An inviting restaurant on Chiswick’s busy King Street, Azou is intimate and family run. Cosy and warm, decorated in a typically North African style, complete with lavishly embroidered upholstery and soft, colourful rugs with full Aladdin appeal, deep red painted arches and dimly glowing lanterns, Azou is full of character and charm. Specialising in the cuisine of Tunisia, Morocco and Algeria, Azou’s menu contrasts sweet and spicy, bold and subtle, light and heavy with traditional dishes imbued with North African colour, flavour and texture. For a relaxed evening after work settle on comfy floor cushions around a low table and order a refreshing mint tea or well earned glass of wine.

Went for a birthday dinner and food was delicious and service fantastic! The owner personally spent time with us to go through menu and recommend options for us considering we wanted to share, try different things, had different preferences. Tagine al aik (the ones with prunes) was sublime! They also changed the dishes for us slightly due to a nut allergy and some diners preferred rice rather than couscous in the royale. Tagines are definitely the speciality here.

Lovely atmosphere & great service. Had fish tagine which was fresh & tasty. Good wine & will definitely be back to sample some more dishes.

Azou was really nice. All the food was lovely, although I had the fish soup which, whilst tasty was quite thin - and I expected more fish in it. But apart from that small comment, the rest of the food was amazing. And at the end I had the baklava - which I'm not usually a huge fan of - but it was absolutely delicious. Servive was good - and although it was a little on the pricey side, we will be going back for sure.
