Open since 1985, this delightful, unpretentious restaurant in Forest Hill, London, is renowned for its stunning and innovative modern Indian cuisine. Babur's stylish, earthy interior features exposed brick walls, natural wooden furniture and beautiful handmade Bengali artworks. The intimate atmosphere and sensational staff have made Babur a favourite dining destination with Forest Hill locals, and the food is worth making a trip across town for. We highly recommend the spicy sardine fish cake stuffed with caramelised figs; sandalwood ostrich infused with fenugreek; and black cod in spices and mustard oil with mustard mash. The wine list, designed by Peter McCombie, is also superb and features 16 wines by the glass, and 34 bottles for under £20.

I have been to Babur before and just as before, it does not disappoint. The service and food is excellent and the menu always has new additions. Their cocktails are great too. I definitely recommend it but make sure you wear warm clothes - it's the only draw back, it's not very warm! The toilets are positively freezing. The back of the restaurant is the quieter more intimate part.
Another enjoyable experience of Babur, Forest Hill. The consistency of this place is truly amazing, service, inventive and delicious food and ambience is always frist rate, A total gem in an otherwise wasteland of decent restaurants!
Babur on Brockley Rise is always a pleasure to eat in or order out from. The food is a delicious reinvention of traditional Indian dishes. The inventive spicy cocktails are also recommended.
This is for Babur Restaurant in Forest Hill. Customer service was excellent, all the staff were very friendly and helpful. The rabbit was tender and the gilt head bream also very good. Someone at the table next to us had the tiger prawns and they looked amazing, will definitely have that the next time I go. Overall a really good experience.
Brilliant as ever. We took friends here and they, like we, now think it is the best curry place in London. Having been to Cinnamon Club and Hibiscus, that is saying something. This place is a real gem.
