Goode & Wright
About Goode & Wright
An English restaurant with a French accent, or perhaps a French restaurant in a bowler hat, whichever it is Notting Hill’s Goode & Wright is all about bringing together the best from both sides of the Channel. Located on London’s Portobello Road, Goode & Wright has all the hallmarks of a classic bistro in its cosy interior, from the chequerboard flooring to the wood-panelled walls, leather banquettes and a sense of pared back elegance. Though on entering you’ll walk beneath the oldest sign on the street – dating from the 20s – you’ll soon discover that Good and Wright is absolutely dedicated to freshness. Chef Finlay believes very strongly in letting quality produce speak for itself, and so on his menu you’ll find the simplicity and style that comes from a blend of locally sourced and imported traditional French ingredients. At Goode & Wright good food and great service are at the forefront of your experience, whether you’re visiting for a quick brunch or to sample the carte du jour menus during a leisurely evening accompanied by the best of the wine list.

Returned to Goode & Wright after a week - decided that there is something special about the food and the atmosphere. The food is "real" - great ingredients, cooked simply but well and it has soul. Perhaps it's becaue the kitchen and the restaurant are so connected (in the same room) and there is just one chef who does it all. Then there is the host - he gives everyone the attention of a friend who really cares that you have a good time. Well worth a try when in W11.
Delicious food. Good service.
Food was fabulous - I had the sea bream which was perfect. Service was great the waiter was very attentive with good recommendations. Chocolate dessert was sooo good!
what a great find, we have a lovely evening and the waiter was extremely friendly
This is a different sort of restaurant - very idiosyncratic. The menu was very limited (three main courses) but it makes up for this with tartines (open sandwiches). So do check the menu online when you book to check it will suit the occasion. The food was actually very good especially some excellent roast lamb. The cheese plate was huge and the deserts very good. The experience was more of eating as a house guest than in a restaurant - very Portobello and good fun.
