Bar Du Musee
About Bar Du Musee
In 1969 Bar Du Musee opened as a tiny French bistro on Nelson Road, Greenwich, with the motto “Fine Wine and Good Food”. Today the bistro may have grown into a successful restaurant and nightspot but it still holds true to the original concept with a delicious and unpretentious menu that changes with the seasons, and a selection of good value international wine.

Bar Du Musee Cafe in Greenwich was extremely disappointing. After being shown to our seats the waiter asked us to wait for 10 minutes while they printed more menus. Bread rolls were produced but with no side plates, a steak was served with no steak knife and the waiter tried to clear starters before we had finished eating. Our desire to finish our starters clearly threw timings in the kitchen as the mains of chicken & steak were dry. A shame but we won't be going back.
Bar Du Musee Cafe was quiet that night, the service was very good and attentive. The Belgian beer is very nice. The mussels I ordered were good too. Just that the next table was too noisy...
i went to Bar Du Musee Cafe in Greenwich on a Tuesday evening. Just as well I went or else the restaurant staff would have nothing to do. The food and wine were fine, the service during the meal was fine. But the post meal service was disappointing, we had finshed out main course and were still drinking out wine 'would like to see the dessert menu?' ' not just yet'. 9:30 we were brought the bill, no further offer of coffee or anything. In 2 minutes we were asked if we would like a card machine
Bar du Musee on Sunday was a bit disappointing. The service was basic and the two salads we had were very insubstantial. The Chicken Caesar had cold chicken, I would have expected warm and the goat's cheese salad with pear had no walnuts and again there was no effort to melt the cheese. Again this would have made it much better. The chocolate dessert was excellent. The bill was completely wrong at the end. All in all a great location but on busy days they need to raise their game.
This was the first time I had been to Bar de Musee. It was just for a quick meal before the cinema. I expect its pretty cool later at night / on the weekend. Food was straight forward and not bad value. They have a nice garden area out the back. i would go back to see what its like later in the evenings.
