Goodman Canary Wharf

About Goodman Canary Wharf

Goodman is a smart New York style steakhouse that has a cult following in London, and its Canary Wharf restaurant is no exception. Specialising in steak, Goodman in South Quay sources the best beef from both sides of the Atlantic. From premium USDA corn-fed herds to grass-fed Scottish beef, grain-fed Irish Angus and rare breed Belted Galloway from the Lake District in England – the menu offers a unique combination of a traditional British chophouse and classic New York grill. All of the restaurant’s meat is dry aged and cut on-site – which can be seen in a special glass-walled dry-ageing room. Couple that with one of London’s largest collections of American red wine, fine single malt whiskeys and a couple of great traditional English beers on tap and Goodman delivers a match made in carnivore heaven.

Goodman at Canary Wharf in London is a little nicer internally than the one in Maddox Street. Overall a very nice experience if awfully expensive- £85 per head. Wine selection is extensive but 300% of the retail price is excessive. . Steaks were good but my 700g Devon beef had a very large bone and lots of fat so ended up being about 300g of meat. For £50 I thought some of the fat should have been trimmed off. Pineapple cheesckae was underwhel.

Goodman Canary Wharf - great location. Not necessarily anything particular in terms of decoration/comfort etc. Nice staff but there again nothing out of extraordinary. I still think Goodman meat is overpriced and not as good quality/taste wise as other steak houses in London, i.e. Gaucho. Starters were very simple. Good chips.

Had the burger and loved it (burger and chips for £14.50). Partner had steak - superb as well. Service was top notch. Will definitely be back.

I went to Goodman Canary Wharf for lunch yesterday. I didn't feel like steak so had the lunch special of Salmon and Cous Cous. It was very nice and quick. Staff was friendly too. Would go again for lunch.

Very good. However the members of staff seemed to be quite new as when we rang up for directions to the restaurant noone seemed to be able to help.
