Barcelona Tapas Bar y Restaurant is a gorgeous, vivacious Spanish restaurant that’s a City of London favourite. There's fun in the air -- the splendid yellows, reds and blues of the decor, the vivid flavours on the plates, the unusual and intriguing wine list, and the jostling sociability of the smart wait staff all add up to a hugely enjoyable mix. The ground floor of Barcelona Tapas Bar y Restaurant offers both bar and table service, and is a terrific place to meet up at lunch or after work and sample some of the excellent - and rare - Spanish wines and bubblies. Barcelona’s mezzanine level is guarded by a Gaudi-inspired mosaic lizard and decorated with flamenco and toreador costumes. You can stick to your favourites from the menu, like chorizo, patatas bravas, and paella, or you can discover rare Iberian ham or broad bean stew with black pudding. Save room for the excellent cheeses.

I was disappointed after our visit to Barcelona Tapas, Aldgate. When we first arrived we were seated at our table and then forgotten about - no one brought over any menus or asked for our drinks order and we had to ask them for them. Once the food arrived it was mostly ok, but the calamari (which we were all looking forward to) was almost inedible and we had to leave it. However, the manager did notice that we hadn't eaten the calamari and acknowledged our complaint and took them off our bill.
Barcelona Tapas Bar y Restaurante, London: The food was delicious and very good value with the 2 for 1 deal. There is a nice relaxed atmosphere so you feel that you can take your time and enjoy your meal. The service was good and friendly, but occasionally a little too relaxed - we had to go up to the bar to ask for the desert menu and the bill as we couldn't get the waitress's attention. I would definitely go back!
My friend had never had tapas before so her birthday seemed an ideal opportunity to introduce her to Barcelona Tapas in Middlesex St. She was delighted with the selection available, and we both thoroughly enjoyed the meal. It was the fourth or fifth occasion I have dined there and have never been disappointed. We are both planning our next visit and I am sure it will be as enjoyable as ever.
nice tapas, great atmosphere, good price
Excellent. Absolutely excellent. The 50% deal makes the whole visit worthwhile. The staff were knowledgeable, made some good wine recommendations, and we had a wonderful lunch. I would go back in a heartbeat.
