The Big Red Pizza and Bar on Deptford’s busy Church Street may well be London’s quirkiest venue, which in such a vibrant and creative city is saying a lot. How has this pizza restaurant achieved such an accolade? Simply by eschewing the normal dining room formalities in favour of a venue sited in an iconic old London bus. Much more than just pizza, though, The Big Red’s fresh baked pizzas, dressed with basil from the ‘dining room’ planters is delicious, this restaurant and bar is at the centre of a buzzing young community. So not only will you enjoy fab food and delicious drinks on the Deptford Riviera; under a canopy, on the Riverside Terrace or within the bus itself, but you’ll be treated to art exhibitions, acoustic music, film screenings and other events accompanied by that food, including great Spanish tapas, and those drinks, from beer from the Meantime Brewery to organic coffee brewed in the Cimbali machine.

We had a nice, quiet evening in the bus eating pizza. The waitress was very helpful and friendly. The pizza was very good. The only thing that was disappointing was the garlic bread with cheese--but that was my fault for ordering that in England and hoping it would be like back home in Chicago (since it never is) Would go again definitely
The big red pizza bus does exactly what it says on the tin. You get a pizza served to you on an old london bus. All at very low prices. The quality of the food is very good considering the price you are paying. This was our second visit and we will be going back for sure.
Pizza on a bus! Cheap and cheerful place which always has a nice buzz about it. Third visit this time and I am sure we will be back again soon.
I'm not going to say too much, except that the service was good, and the pizzas were acceptable. It was a bit cramped, but that's to expected; after all, it is a double-decker bus! I'd go there again for sure, but only with one other rather than in a party.
We visited The Big Red Pizzeria near Deptford DLR and we were not disappointed. The venue was oddly quiet for such a beautiful day, but the service was attentive without being over-bearing. They were missing fruit ingredients for pimms, which was a shame, but the pizzas truly made up for it. We had a wide range of the menu between us and they tasted fresh and perfectly cooked. We loved them and the price is a bargain for the quality. The bus venue is fun novelty. Highly recommended.
