Ben's Canteen
About Ben's Canteen
Ben’s Canteen on London’s St Johns Hill is built around the concept of neighbourhood communities, fully intending to be the restaurant and café at the very heart of this particular Clapham enclave. Embracing the canteen idea only in its unpretentious simplicity, Ben’s Canteen is in fact cosy and warm, the reclamation chic of the interior giving the room character and a splash of continental style romance, with seating spilling out on to the pavement through the open frontage during warmer months. The focus here at Ben’s Canteen however is very much on food, the chalkboard menus showcasing brilliant produce from the best of small scale suppliers, talented artisans and local producers in deli style dishes served from morning until late at night. Not only will Ben’s Canteen share the flavour of these ‘hero suppliers’, but their stories too, providing guests with plenty of provenance and, in turn, that much strived for sense of community. From a quick coffee solo to a languid dinner and drinks with a loved one, Ben’s Canteen has the ambience and offerings to suit.

Ben's Canteen in Wandsworth was an enjoyable experience. I like the vibe but the food is a little bit expensive and I did prefer it under it's previous owners as "Out of the Blue"
I went to Ben's Canteen in Battersea on a Wednesday night. It was such a nice space. The food was delicious. The staff were really nice and friendly. I am definitely going back very soon.
Ben's Canteen in Battersea has a great brunch offering, service was quick and food was tasty. I would go back.
Had a really lovely night with three friends at Bens Canteen. Its got a great relaxed atmosphere, staff couldnt have been friendlier, and the wine list and food was good. Would thoroughly recommend it and will be back again.
Had a great evening with three friends at Ben's Canteen, SW11. We booked early (7pm), but the place filled up as the evening wore on. Mains were fab (we didn't bother with starters); and the wine recommendation was good (wines aren't cheap, but they're probably worth it); pudding got a few raised eyebrows from the assembled girly diners, but was good. No-one ever came to this restaurant (or its predecessor) to visit the toilets!!!
