This pub is an island of sanity in a buffeting sea of fancy re-fits and gastrofication. Expect traditional pub grub, Fuller's ales, a jukebox and some proper East End banter, interrupted by the only concession to the 21st century - the odd resident DJ. The only downside is the dinky size, eased in summer by a clutch of pavement tables.
