The HG Wells
About The HG Wells
Named after the legendary author HG Wells who was born just around the corner, The HG Wells in Worcester Park is a delightful local south London pub and restaurant. Located on Cheam Common Road, this cheerful dining destination has a home-away-from-home atmosphere and is always filled with a talkative crowd. The bar boasts real log fires, beamed ceilings, award-winning wines, ales and cocktails and a moreish ‘Comfort Food’ menu that includes pork pies and pints of prawns. The main restaurant boasts polished wooden floors and a slightly more formal vibe, and the restaurant’s outdoor garden with its outdoor bar and kid’s play area is a hit during the summer months. A fantastic place to gather family and friends, The HG Wells is a friendly and reasonably priced south London pub and restaurant that is suitable for all occasions.

The restaurant at the HG Wells is nicely set away from the main pub bar. the service was good and very friendly. Nice wholesome Menu, good food. We will definately book again soon so would recommmend a visit if you are in the area.
The H.G. Wells is a local pub between North Cheam & Worcester Park. The area is a bit deficient in friendly pubs, so this is a bonus. A large bar greets you, and there are then two large areas to either side, the restaurant being to the right. Very welcoming staff, and a good standard pub menu. I settled for haddock and chips (though was tempted by the healthier option of salads, including a tempting-sounding ham and fresh fig) & my partner had the mixed grill. Both very good & we will return
Very friendly and welcoming. Meal was good and service was quick.
