Kentish Canteen
About Kentish Canteen
A modern local restaurant catering to the lucky residents of West London’s Kentish Town, the Kentish Canteen is the latest venture from Owen Crinnigan and Wendy Sinclair of PJ’s Bar and Grill and Guanabara Covent Garden. Simplicity is central to the Kentish Canteen menus, with their mainly European flavour weaved in to top quality fresh produce from the best growers and suppliers. Brunches and lunches range from the hearty and filling to the light and healthy, giving way to a supper menu later in the day, offering small sharing or nibble plates, larger main dishes and salads, followed by gluttonously good desserts. A 60s-esque exterior with green and cream paintwork and bold lettering leads visitors in to a buzzy dining room, belying its past as a police station, plastered with historic images of Kentish Town itself, bringing a real sense of community and a friendly vibe to the relaxed, homely Kentish Canteen. Just as popular for a quick bite to eat as for a larger three course meal, the Kentish Canteen is the perfect addition to a London suburb with a village feel.

This was great value, a lovely bright and clean, friendly restaurant just a few hundered yards from the tube and within sight of the HMV Forum where we were headed. Amazing value, highly recommended!
We have had a lovely dinner at Kentish Canteen on last Friday evening. The restaurant was a bit quite, probably due to long weekend. With the Toptable offer, we were treated to a glass of nice cold prosecco. Although a set menu, the choices were plenty and of very good value. Food was delicious and service was good. We shall return.
Had a decent meal at the Kentish Canteen, the quality of the food wasn't great (our halloumi was a little too chargrilled in places, and the steak was fairly tough) but it was fair value for the price. The bar downstairs is brilliant though, well worth a visit if you're in the area!
A lot better than the cafe it replaces - which was awful. Overall good, service was ok and my burger was overdone.
Warm service and I would recommend the chorizo sausages on the menu!!
