The Beehive
About The Beehive
Life is as sweet as honey here at London pub restaurant The Beehive. Centrally located, this hostelry lays claim to being one of the city’s oldest pubs, having been established in 1884. With a desire to extend to guests the kind of warm welcome which would have been forthcoming all those years ago, the team at The Beehive today go above and beyond to provide busy Londoners with a place where they can feel at home an enjoy a peaceful, comfortable meal away from the rat race. The typical public house exterior of The Beehive, lined with its parasol-ed picnic benches, leads to a room in many ways unchanged over the years - indeed a huge Victorian dark wood bar remains, still serving a wide variety of lagers and real ales as well as excellent wines to complement the food menu. Described as ‘gastropub’, The Beehive’s menu provides much more than the average pub with passion and talent put to use in the kitchen, resulting in a choice of high quality dishes with a hearty, home cooked flavour and sophisticated presentations. Bar snacks are also available.

Good Italian inspired food alongside pub classics. Is it a pub? A restaurant? A gastropub? A trattoria? I'm not sure and I dont think it knows. Good beer and wine selection and good value however. I'm not sure it adds up to the sum of it's parts because overall it seems confused.
Not a bad pub, away from the really busy streets and retaining a bit of character whilst serving up decent food. Nice atmosphere on a Friday lunchtime and good if your looking for a better than average pub lunch in this area of town.
The Beehive has shut. It was rather embarrasing when my friend turned up... good thing was there is a new lovely Italian restaurant in its place. So we ended up eating there. This review is for the new Italian called Briciole. Fantastic Italian fare - authentic, fresh and very well priced. Amazing wine list too and at very reasonable prices.
My wife and I ate in the beehive on Crawford street and had a reasonable meal. The food was satisfactory but nothing was stunning! It was very quiet in the restaurant which was fine and the service was good. I would probably pop back into the beehive if I was in the area.
The Beehive - Crawford Street W1U Friendly service, odd selection of lagers but found one that suited me. Food was OK I had fish and chips and the fish was very small. My friend had pork cheek and loved it. Very attentive bar and table staff.
