El Olivo

About El Olivo

A favourite local Spanish tapas restaurant, El Olivo restaurant is located on the ever more chichi Stoke Newington Church Street, within reach of the rail station as well as the bars and boutiques of the area. The dark wood interior of El Olivo provides a cosy atmosphere in which the lively buzz of chatter makes for the sort of cosmopolitan vibe you might find in any cool European city tapas bar. While the very Spanish dish of paella is indeed an El Olivo specialty, the remainder of the menu, classic sharing tapas dishes in the main, blends together the favourites of the Spanish interior with a heavy dose of Mediterranean flavour from the coastal regions. The wine list is almost entirely new world but with all the expected Spanish additions – including excellent cava - all for good, low prices. With its chilled atmosphere, Stoke Newington’s El Olivo is a bustling meeting place getting a whole lot of amor from hungry North London locals.

The food in El Olivo was absolutely delicious! So much choice on the tapas menu, and so many interesting combinations. Even the simple stuff like the spanish omlette was tasty. The only let down were the king prawn dishes; the prawns definitely weren't king and instead were very small substitutes! Generally good service and nice ambience.

El Olivo - 24 Stoke Newington Church Street, London, N16 0LU Had a really nice meal for two here. We shared the Paella, as recommended on Top Table, which was full of fish and very filling. Had whitebait & croquetts for starter. Whitebait was lovely but the Croquetes were a little unexciting. - Would have liked a bit more sauce with both the straters! Overall a very enjoyable meal.
