Crossing a metal gangplank above a steaming open plan kitchen into the world of Belgo Centraal, and seeing its waiters decked out in monk's habits, is a real treat for the senses. It's a subterranean den of delights, and right in the heart of Covent Garden. The vibe is informal with the long refectory style tables and the food hearty.

Hungry children will love the traditional Belgian fare served up here. They can tuck into a choice of mussels, rotisserie chicken, pork and leek sausages or yummy cod goujons. This is topped off with delicious home-made ice cream for pud. Best of all, kids under 12 eat free so you can afford to splash out on your own dinner. (One free kids meal with each full price adult meal)

Excellent meal at Belgo Centraal. Food was great, you won't go hungry. The toliets are fun too!

I have been goingt to Belgo Cental for years and have never been disapointed. This occasion was equally enjoyable but the food and service did suffer a little as a result of the restaurant being so busy on a Friday night. Nothing to change my opinion though and I would always highly recommend a visit.

Belgo has always been one of my favourite restaurants to go to. It is affordable and offers good choices.

I went to Belgo Centraal with 5 friends. All of them ordered the mussels which they actually loved. As I don't like mussels I ordered the spitroast chicken which was lovely. I'll definitely go again.

The food was brilliant and the waiter service great. However the "hosts" upstairs were dire, we booked for 5.30 and even though the part we were sue to sat in opened at 5.30 we were kept waiting until 5.45. Larger groups were sent down immediately but those dining in couples were kept hanging around until there were enough to fill a lift. A minor niggle, but the manager downstairs said that the staff upstairs let everyone else down! Food great though - the beef carbonnnade is heaven in a bowl!
