Good food and good service at this Indian restaurant in north Finchley. Reasonably priced and a welcoming and warm atmosphere. Good venue for a late night curry.

Bengal Bertie was a nice surprise because although it was not busy, even though it was a saturday night the food was great. The Onion Bhajees were the best we had tasted for a long time and the menu had some different things which were unusual .Service was attentive though not pushy. All in all a great evening and we will return.

The restaurant was quiet, but that was probably to be expected for a weekday evening. Still, the customer service was fine and the food served in reasonable time. We particularly enjoyed the paneer tikka, the other vegetarian dishes were a bit hit and miss. The overall price was reasonable however.

The food was fine at Bengal Bertie's in North Finchley, but the restaurant desperately needs more staff - it was half an hour in between getting our poppadoms and being able to order the rest of the food. They weren't busy in the restaurant itself - there were only 2 other tables - but the constant stream of takeaway calls meant the waiter was continually on the pone. A pity.
