Benihana Restaurants - Chelsea

About Benihana Restaurants - Chelsea

An always popular restaurant on the style-forward Kings Road in London’s Chelsea, Benihana offers an exciting take on Japanese dining. A concept originated way back in the 1960s over in the Big Apple, Benihana brings together food and performance, pioneering ‘eatertainment’. Ideal for families, Benihana is sleek and stylish with a modern interior, but chances are you won’t be paying much attention to your surroundings – most diners are too busy being charmed by the tableside teppan-yaki cookery which sees the chefs create real drama before your very eyes. In addition to the delicious personally created dishes cooked and served at your table, Benihana also offers eat in and lunchtime take away sushi.

Benihana is a great restaurant, but the side orders were a little expensive I thought, and there was quite a long wait before our chef came over to start cooking for us.

Bennihana in Chelsea was an excellent japanese meal choice. Very entertaining chef preparing the food right in front of your eyes was fantastic. The toptable 8 courses for £23 deal was excellent value- we were very full when we left. My only criticism would be the speed at which the first few courses came- we actaully had course 3 on our table before we had finished course 2!

Honestly I had high expectations, but on arrival the cold edamame ( sent back twice because it was still frozen) and the really bad vodka martini did not set the tone well. I love the tapanaki cooking the chefs are great and the food was good. I suppose you would go here for the show not for the gastronomic experience and thats what it was a bit of a show with alright food. Once is enough for us I think. I can't see us returning which is a shame as the site is cool and has so much potential.

Benihana's on King's Road is defiently a great night out, the layout is very mesmerising. The staff are extremely friendly and welcoming. We were put with some lovely people whom where also out celebrating a birthday! The chef was really sweet and great entertainment. There was so much food from the£23.00 deal, couldn't eat it all but it was lovely! The whole night was great, I would recommend it something different, fun and yummy! The cocktails were so good that we ended up spending a lot!!
