Toptable says about The Fountain Restaurant at Fortnum & Mason

Newly polished from a recent refurbishment, Fortnum & Mason's Fountain Restaurant presents a deluxe brassiere-style affair in the middle of London's swankiest districts, complete with the addition of a cocktail bar (perfect for single diners). Combining an eclectic mix of modern touches with traditional British classics, The Fountain's menu includes a selection of seasonal starters, salads, fish and meats from the grill. Wine lovers should make sure to stop by Fortnum & Mason's exceptional wine department before the meal to take advantage of the £10 corkage in the restaurant. Be sure not to miss long-established favourites, such as The Fountain's full English breakfast, or their justifiably famous Fortnum's Welsh Rarebit.

The Fountain Restaurant was an excellent experience. So nice linked to Fortnum and Masons as well so it was such a complete experience so you knew the quality of food would be fab. The set menu with half a bottle of wine was fantastic. The Service was excellent as well, to be expected for such an establishment. The fishcakes were to die for.

Our meal at The Fountain restaurant was pleasant - we went for the set menu which came with a half bottle of wine each which was a nice inclusion. However the lack of ambience with no music and close to empty dining room was disappointing.

The Fountain Restaurant

A very traditional spot. Went for breakfsat, which was as expected.full English with excellent black and whote puddings. Proper silver service and proper tea out of a pot!

Would highly recommend for a very trad.English experience, but not cheap.

The Fountain is a wonderful place pre-theatre and once that rush if over is tones right down to something very quiet and excellent if you want to have a chat. I either have the wonderful fish and chips or their signature fish pie which includes salmon and lobster but still feels like delicious comfort food. The sticky toffee pudding is a must.

Excellent week-night supper with friends and doesn't break the bank either.

Another fine Christmas meal at The Fountain. It may not be the hippest place in town but the great decor and good english staples still make for a great meal. Portions are hearty and cocktail menu is excellent. At almost £50 a head for a typical meal it is not cheap but is still great value for money. Will definitely be back soon
