Toptable says about Boisdale of Belgravia

If the thought of Scottish cuisine means haggis and little else, then pay a visit to Boisdale and prepare to be converted. Of course, they do serve McSween's Haggis, but you will find plenty of dishes to appeal if it's not your bag. The atmosphere is masculine and clubby with dark green and lacquer red panelling, dark wood floors and interesting paintings. Where possible, the ingredients used in the dishes are sourced directly from Scotland and the vegetables procured from organic suppliers.

What's cooking?

A blend of traditional and modern British cooking. House specialities include carpaccio of Rannoch Moor hot smoked wild highland venison with a black truffle dressing, grilled Orkney king scallops, crispy pancetta and braised fennel with saffron beurre blanc, fresh game and fish. Bread and butter pudding with warm custard and raspberry coulis, raspberry cranachan. The menu also includes the delightful Edwardian idea of savouries such as scotch woodcock and scrambled eggs with black truffles.

Very 'scottish' looking place, great food and relaxing atmosphere not pompus in any way but still with class, worth a visit.

Boisdale of Belgravia was as I expected it, grand with that colonialist south American feel. Food was good but I personally think overpriced, the cigar terrace very dangerously attractive for a leisurely afternoon. Definitely will go back to try the jazz evenings!

Boisdale of Belgravia never dissapoints, a sligthly limited, but consistently lovely menu, great wine list, wonderful staff and great live music.

The Boisdale always impresses me with it's food, service and ambience! A friend and I shared one of the smoked salmon starters and then had succulent steaks followed by banana pudding. WIth a seemingly endless wine list, its easy to find just what you're looking for. Every night at the Boisdale has a different feel based on the live music yet every night offers a cosy, sophisticated environment that transports you away from the hustle and bustle of the city. Highly recommend!
