Borders are carving themselves a comfortable niche in the Waterstones-led book market. You can expect a wide range of material laid out in calm surroundings - and, should you be so inclined, some Starbucks coffee over which you can peruse your new purchases. Upstairs often has poetry readings and open mics where you can wip out your tetrametres to an appreciative audience.
